Luzee nodded her agreement, “I’ll get ahead of you today and scout in front, Reece can hang back and patrol the marshes and low glades. Let’s make sure we reach that summit this evening.” Terrani turned her head to look at her, thought for a moment, then replied, “I’m just,” she sighed slightly, “more open to this being genuine now. Luzee drew her conclusion, “so, by your reasoning, you’ve reached the point of thinking this contact is a good actor then?” Luzee responded by giving Terrani something of a surprised expression, before shuffling in the sand and leaning back slightly, “I’m just a little taken aback, that’s all.” Terrani added, “and this one is either great acting or genuine. “When Reece and Roz join us, I’ll show you, I’ve just had another D-Link message from my contact.” James looked out to sea and took a sip of his water, before stating, “I hope I’m right.”Īnother voice asked, “right about what?” It was Luzee, taking a seat on the sand next to them. That voice sounds desperate, they’re either a very, very good actor, or genuine.” The line cut out, James saved the message and Terrani was left with a visible look of worry on her face. I doubt I’ll ever see anyone I know again. I have a provisional seat booked on a passenger liner, don’t make me take it. I’m scared for myself and my family, if you don’t make the contact point in thirty-six hours, I’m running. The voice began and it was the same, distorted voice in the original message, “you’re running out of time! I know they’re looking for me now, those I trust still have access to their boards and my real name is plastered all over them. With no other option, he opened his link and patched Terrani in, and they were greeted with the ‘Audio Only,’ prompt. He looked at Terrani, unsure, then gazed up at the shack where Roz and Reece had not emerged from yet. He nodded and was about to reply when his D-Link rang. I’m still betting on this being a trap you know?” Terrani mused, “I have to admit, I’m just relieved we’re all onboard and working together. We’ll even manage to reach the destination with a day to spare.” It’s hitting me now that we meet this mystery person tonight and I didn’t figure that out when we were talking to Toby last night. As she seated herself next to him, he returned her greeting, then they embraced for a moment and as they released, she asked him, “sleep well?” He was just taking another sip when he heard a cheery and familiar, “good morning.” He turned his head and smiled at the sight of Terrani, holding her own mug of Instant Water and approaching his position. He took a sip of the water and got the sweet taste of strong blackcurrant hitting his senses, something he thought was improved by the surroundings. He felt invigorated at the sight, so drew a cup of Instant Water and took it outside with him, squatting on the beach in the same spot as he did last night. He opened the curtains to his room and welcomed the view of the beach and sea into his shack. As he moved to rise from his bed, he heard the chimes of his alarm and silenced them almost instantly. You’ll see me soon,” his hearing started to pick up the gentle sound of the waves on the nearby beach and the dim shadows of his shack welcomed him into the new day. He was stirring and starting to gradually open his eyes, but as he did so he heard a clear voice, the distorted tones of the mystery person in his message, “almost time.
